Edited by Robert Elsie and Petrit Selimi

ISBN 978-9951-595-02-5 Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Prishtina 2014 315 pp. Of a total of 560 mosques in Kosovo, 218 were burned down or otherwise seriously damaged by Serbian forces during the Kosovo War of 1998-1999. In many regions of the country, Serbian forces (army, police and paramilitaries) systematically blew up mosques and used minarets as target practice for their artillery. Some buildings were razed to the ground to destroy all trace of their existence. This edition, a photographic documentation of the destruction wrought upon Islamic cultural heritage in Kosovo, catalogues the damage done, region by region and mosque by mosque.
